hey hey
long time no speak cause my life actually did things over the weekend-shock! I went to fruitstock festival up town on saturday to see gilles peterson-one of my heroes-do a dj set. I went up with ralph-who is a very good mate-WHEN he turns up on time-is the emphasis right there-no? Oh well... Basically he left me hanging at ealing tube for close to an hour....and then at regents park tube....actually he did text me the night before saying he was going to be very late but i didn't get that due to the ineptitude of my phone-so maybe that deserves blame as well...
anyway went down, had a good time, went around all the little stalls and wished I had brought along food/more friends/ little green if you get me....everyone else had some so why not me?!
Ralph told us that there was gonna be a flirting area on site so I was looking fwd to that especially as tracey cox (ladeee from "would like to meet")was there-and also the fact that its been ages since..well you know :0)
We headed over to there then and then on to the info stand where we picked up a programme (seriously-a word in your ears to those nice peeps at innocent- why were programmes £1?I am a student and it costs bare dollar to get up to regents park-some of us don't have the pleasure to live on bakers street/maida vale/somewhere nice in nw london like other trendy 20 something types). So we bought one and then went to the bar and bought a small, expensive water bottle to share-word to myself..next time-PREPARE!!-and then we sat down.
It was pleasant being surrounded by beautiful peeps everywhere and in a green field in the middle of london and the warmth of the weather and being with a close mate and having Gilles P play tuneage to us; Soil n pimp, herbert,4 hero-oh mightyness!!!
It was kinda weird however still-ralph was hungover and the conv was not really moving but being prodded along haphazardly..
After GPs set we decided to head down to rough trade in covent garden as well as sort out some food business..so we went to sainsburys and then on to warren street tube-deserted-and down to the garden. We fooled around down there checking out records and then had a coffee at the caff under neal street mall or whatever that place is called..the mocha wasn't all that so sort it out!Whilst down there got to check out the cricket score-it was pretty mighty (oz in the 170s-a bit of a shocker especially considering the mornings play) and well done to england n good luck 4 old trafford!
We headed back up cause we wanted to watch Nitin Sawnhey and he didn't disappoint although it did take a bit of time for him to warm into the set but after that it was quite heavy...definitely some downloadage do be done there....It was perfect for the sun coming down and couples holding each other around us an much ganja in the air..made me quite maudlin and thinkin abt my ex...Hmm best not to go there anyway.
Was thinkin during the set; london=best place to live on earth despite stupid prices et al evrything else- so much mixture of ages and races-fantastic!!
Then got bk on the tube and bk to paddington and then bk to home all within 30 mins..thus a great day!!!
I wanna tell you lot more abt the w/e but am sure you've got enough to digest with this so as ever, God speed, love and peace
